Sally Shapiro released her debut single I'll Be By Your Side last summer, followed by the LP Disco Romance back in November. How I managed to miss them both I don't know, but a friend put me onto a couple of her tracks recently and I was pretty blown away. The producer, Johan Agebjoern, has been hugely influenced by the classic Italo disco and Hi-NRG sound of the mid eighties. All the tracks feature beautiful melodies and harmonies (and basslines) plus Sally has a really soft and beautiful voice.

After ordering the album I was quick to search out any remixes that were available. There are some official ones from MarfloW, Rude 66, DJ Aven and Dyylan but my favourites are from a guy who calls himself SLL on Myspace. He has slowed down two of the best tracks from the LP - I Know and Hold Me So Tight - by around 10bpm and made them even more old school sounding. Feel the slo-mo disco vibe on this dub version.
