Finland's Willy Baxter is looking to follow up his excellent debut release from last year with some new tracks for 2008. His single Aiming High was put out by Irish label seedyburnR as a double header with H3lix's Supersmashingbrilliant track, which was also remixed by Willy. New tracks have been previewing on his Myspace player over the last couple of months and 2 new EP's have recently been added to last.fm, available to stream in full. Title track Slope started life with a vocal but it's been reworked into an extended instrumental complete with chunky electro-disco beats, a robotic bassline, string stabs and little guitar licks - all at a cool 115bpm. Second track Somewhere Else ups the tempo slightly and adds a poppier angle to the electro-disco feel with some nice vocals over the top. As with all Willy's stuff, both tracks feature loads of great synthesizer work including some lovely chord progressions and plenty of dreamy arpeggio's flying around the place. Fans of Metro Area, Kelley Polar, Professor Genius, Reverso 68, Spirit Catcher etc. should definitely be checking this out.Download: Willy Baxter - Slope.mp3 (Zshare)

Willy is currently looking for an outlet for his solo work, so all you label owners and DJ's that like what you hear should get in touch with him via Myspace and make it happen! Be sure to to check out the vocal version of Slope and the other new track Another Time in his player while you're there too. Also look out for the forthcoming single from Willy's band The Millioners. Body Into Use includes remixes from Finnish dirty electro outfit O:pel Bastards and 24:Hours favourites Rodion.
